The selection I offer you seems to me what we can call “the essentials”. First of all, there are the earth and ochre colours for they are colours of the world.
The Italian earth colours are deep and subtle colours with the essential oxides.

Among them, there is the “ultramarine blue” which doesn’t look like, as we could think, to the fabulous “lapis lazuli” from the antiquity.
